Expression of Interest for Industry Specific Workshop Tutors
About Showbiz Christchurch:
Showbiz Christchurch is a local producer of musical theatre dedicated to fostering talent and creativity within our community. In 2024, we are excited to announce our new initiative aimed at providing monthly industry-specific workshops to aspiring artists and professionals in the performing arts.
Call for Workshop Proposals:
We are seeking experienced and passionate individuals to propose workshops that will enrich and inspire our local performing arts community. If you have expertise in any aspect of the industry, we invite you to submit your workshop proposal for consideration.
How Showbiz will support you:
Profit share model – You will keep 80% of your total ticket sales
Promotion of your event through our marketing channels
Ticket sales for your workshop through our Patronbase system
Full use of the Showbiz studios including our fully equipped kitchen
Three studios with pianos available if required.
Workshop Topics:
We welcome a diverse range of workshop ideas encompassing various facets of the performing arts, including but not limited to:
Acting techniques
Vocal training and performance
Choreography and dance styles
Costume and set design
Stagecraft and technical skills
Audition preparation and presentation
Marketing and promotion in the arts industry
Stage Intimacy
Directing
Submission Guidelines:
To submit your workshop proposal, please provide the following information:
Name and Contact Information: Include your full name, email address, phone number, and a brief bio highlighting your relevant experience.
Workshop Title and Description: Clearly state the title of your proposed workshop and provide a detailed description (200-300 words) outlining its objectives, content, and target audience.
Duration and cost: Specify the duration and participant cost of your workshop (e.g., half-day, full-day). Note : It is our desire to keep workshops as low cost and as accessible as possible.
Timing: We are aiming to provide at least one workshop per month from February to December. Please let us know any preferred dates that work best for you.
Resources and Materials: Outline any specific resources, materials, or equipment you will provide for the workshop.
CV or Résumé: Attach a CV or résumé highlighting your professional background and experience in the performing arts industry.
Submission Deadline:
All workshop proposals must be submitted by December 14th.
Selection Process:
The selection of workshops will be based on their relevance, quality, and potential impact on the participants. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for further discussion.
