This set, and costumes for My Fair Lady was originally designed by Christchurch based Harold Moot for the Wellington Musical Theatre production directed by Stephen Robertson in 2016.

The set and costumes were acquired by Showbiz Christchurch in 2019 with the intention of staging the show in April 2020 at the Isaac Theatre Royal. Covid intervened and kept it off stage until September 2023 when it was once again directed by Stephen Robertson and musical direction by Richard Marrett.

The short season of only 11 performances featured the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra sold just under 8000 seats and was an artistic and financial success for Showbiz. The production engendered huge nostalgia for our senior community and marketing engagement with a large number of retirement villages lead to very solid houses.

The show is not a complete set and this document serves to outline what’s included and what is not.
